Go to the Fork in the Road

post

I recently got a Facebook announcement from one of my favorite projects that “it” was celebrating a 30th anniversary. How can a giant fork have a Facebook page? Back in the 80s in Austin, Texas, I had an identity project for a new restaurant, Hyde Park Bar & Grill. As part of the solution to create visual impact (and get around a tough sign code), we built a giant, 18-foot tall fork. It’s a great advertising theme and gets tons of press. And they’re still having lots of fun fabricating new pieces that go on the top of the fork — spaghetti, longhorns, french fries, the Earth. I had no idea I was building it for life, but I’m happy to hear the fork is still in the road!
